2% market share for Google on dAHas anyone read Spyed's (aka Angelo) journal? Apparently Google's new browser, Chrome which is still in beta, was in use by 2% of the deviantART visitors on the day it was released. I would be among that 2%. I downloaded it and tried it out. Google definitely has a really good thing going. Some of the features under the hood are, dare I say, revolutionary. Most notably is that each tab in Google Chrome is it's own separate process which means if one web page is slow, the other tabs don't have to wait. Also, if one tab crashes the other tabs remain open and the crashed tab shows a frown. Another big thing is it's approach to javascript, using a JIT (Just In Time) compiler type approach, known as V8, to make javascript run faster. It's about time a browser was released that is built for the Web 2.0 world. All that being said, Chrome still will not replace Firefox for me in the foreseeable future, but if developers start making some of the add ons I rely upon in Firefox for Chrome before Firefox adapts some of Chrome's technologies then I may consider the switch.

How many people does it take to change a light bulb? The answer: More than it should if it's a headlamp in a Chrysler 300M. I just went through the pain staking process of replacing a headlamp in a Chrysler 300M, and I feel like I've accomplished a great feat. Open hood, remove old headlamp, insert new headlamp, close hood, good to go, right? No. Changing a headlamp in that car requires removing the bumper, well technically it's called the "front facia" but it is definitely a PITA.
More personal newsHad a wedding in the family last weekend. It was really good to see some of the people in my extended family that I don't get to see too often. They're spread out all around the country. My cousin is living in Virginia and plays guitar for a band called "ShugaBlam! and the Purple Pumps" [pauses for laughter]. You can see them doing a song that he wrote the music for here:
[link]Anywho, the wedding was on an island and the reception was on a chartered party boat with an open bar. Of course, the party didn't end after the cruise since the boat docks right at the foot of the Old Port which is known for it's bars and night life.
Seems most the people I know here on dA have gone AWOL but I'll keep the talkback section going anyways since I like hearing from you.TalkbackHave you tried Google Chrome yet? If you have then what are your opinions? If not then why not? Is there room in the browser market for yet another browser? Do you think Chrome will influence any of the other browsers? What about Microsoft, will they finally decide to make a decent browser out of IE9?
